HOW TO USE THIS GUIDE
Note: For wood decks and wood framed railings, refer WOOD DECKS AND WOOD APPLICATIONS on this web site.

IF YOU ARE DESIGNING OR FABRICATING A HORIZONTAL RAILING:

From the HARDWARE AND CABLE section of this web site, select the hardware you wish to use.
From the CABLE section of this web site, select the cable size you will be using.
From the choices shown to the right, select the frame style you want to use.

Links from the frame style drawings will take you to downloadable working drawings, and links from the working drawings will take to you relevant construction specifications.

If you wish, you may access downloadable working drawings direct from the Design & Fabrication Guide for Metal Railings menu, but you will need to know the drawing number from the working drawings or a hard copy of the Design and Fabrication Guide to access the drawing you want.

You may also access the Railing Frame Construction Specifications but you will want to know the specification reference from the working drawings to do so. The specification reference is shown on the working drawings on this web site or in the hard copy of the Design & Fabrication Guide for Metal Railings.

IF YOU ARE DESIGNING OR FABRICATING A VERTICAL RAILING:

From the choices shown in the right column, select the frame style you want to use. Links from the frame style drawings will take you to downloadable working drawings, and links from the working drawings will take to you relevant construction notes.

If you wish, you may access downloadable working drawings direct from the menu selections in the right column, but you will need to know the drawing number from the working drawings or a hard copy of the Design and Fabrication Guide to access the drawing you want.
Select the hardware you will use from VERTICAL RAILINGS-HARDWARE TO SPECIFY on the Design & Fabrication Guide for Metal Railings menu.
